POLICE BRUTALITY

I believe that the duty of a policeman to a citizen or civilian is to protect them.

Also, even when apprehending an armed robber or a suspected armed robber, I believe that running them over with your vehicle is not one of the techniques to handle the situation.

How does the Police channel of authority work? Who ensures where and when a squad is to be at a particular location and for what purposes. Who allocates these.

Or has the police turned into market men and women who do not report to anyone and setup anywhere they want?
Even market women nowadays have got territories that they respect.

So, the public would want to know,
  • Who allocated the location and task to the officers?
  • And what was the content of their task?
  • Were they supposed to bring in the suspects or kill them on sight?

I don't belive we live in a country where we kill suspects before we interrogate them

"Dear Ghana Police Service, See how the Akatsi Police is trying hard to cover up their running down and killing of another 20 year old boy in Akatsi just yesterday.
Just last month we hurried #Etornam whom a certain Police officer brutalized and he later died 3 days after.
The Police ran down 3 guys on a motorcycle with their Riot control Van.
They actually smashed the guys on the motorbike with their Van onto the guard reels used to barricade the side of the road.
The guy who died was at the back of the bike so he fell on the ground and smashed his head on the bare street.
Sad is that the Police further carried them to the hospital and handcuffed them to the bed and told the nurses that they were criminals. The guy who died #Setor went into comma and was later transferred to Ridge hospital where he died of his wounds in less than 24 hours.
Now the crazy part of the issue is that, the Police quickly took the Riot Van that ran down the boys to the repair shop yesterday and it was quickly repaired as if nothing happened. This is Police tampering with evidence and somebody has to do something this time.
Now the offense of the boys is something hilarious as well. The Police is said to claim that a group of boys on motorbike snatched a bag from a certain Person in a car some days back so the Police have been looking for the suspects.
And so on seeing this 3 guys on a bike, the Police felt they could be the suspects and tried stopping them. But then the boys feeling it was because they were 3 on the bike sped off and the Police chased them with the van and ran them over by smashing them into the road barricades.
Now this morning the Youths of Akatsi went on a rampage to show their dissatisfaction on the frequent attacks by the Police and they were met with live bullets and 2 guys got shot down. So it’s a full blown mayhem between the Akatsi Police and the Youths of the town.
Trust for the Police is completely gone and I wonder if it can be restored. See how they tempered with the evidence within 24 hours? I don’t feel safe in Akatsi at all. #AkatsiPoliceKillingYouths

With all this, one question we would want to know is that;
  • If the Police believed they were right, why tamper with evidence?
  • Or do we live in a country where the life of the protector is more important than whom they are supposed to protect?
  • Then what may the essence be of needing protection?
The Citizens need to know

ARE WE SAFE?????
